The medal for NX52651 James Gibb Hamilton arrived in the mail today. I've taken a photo and added it to the blog post about this search. I now know that the medal was purchased in England from a memorabilia trader. The medal was then forwarded to the Royal Navy Officer at Falmouth with the view to donating it to the CO of HMAS Choules so that the medal could be returned to Australia when the ship sailed to its home port. The medal was then forwarded to Honours and Awards and finally on to me.
The family of James Hamilton very much appreciates receiving this medal back.
